"Christiane Gerda Schmidt and Andreas Schröder transformed the Museümli into a studio for two weeks. On 19 October, they will showcase their rich creative output in their exhibition in situ.
The two met as scholarship holders at Schlossmediale '23. Schmidt let the wind draw delicately on paper, while Schröder presented a sound installation with compressed air and horns. They discovered the Museümli at the foot of the Buchserberg and were enchanted by this place where nature meets civilisation.

Force of Situation
The duo started with a completely open mind, listening to the water and swinging the hairdryer. ‘We quickly realised that there was already a creative force present in the room. The constant rushing of the Tobelbach stream explains its function,’ says Schröder. The Museümli is the place where this impetuous energy is harnessed and made technically usable. Schröder, an installation and sound artist with an affinity for mechanics and technology, is fascinated by traction, among other things. Together, the two explore the tension between nature and technology, penetrating it through artistic creation. ‘Everything is here,’ says Gerda Schmidt. ‘We use the existing material and the tangible forces to create a new situation, merging the outside and the inside, making it resonate.’ She, the exploratory draughtswoman, loves to create an experimental framework in which new things can emerge. It is no coincidence that Schmidt and Schröder have joined forces: both are united by their thorough search for the processual, their consistent engagement with the spatial situation and their preference for natural materials.[…]"
